Rolls Royce Jonckheere Aerodynamic Coupe II

Ugur Sahin Design, a Turkish automotive design firm, recently released their latest creation, the Rolls Royce Jonckheere Aerodynamic Coupe II. The concept is based on  the original Jonckheere coupe circa 1935. The designer of the car was never found because the company was destroyed in WWII.

Jonckheere now operates under VDL Jonckheere and produces bus and coach bodies. VDL commissioned Ugur Sahin because of their rich history of creating original luxury vehicles like the Z03 and Dino.

No engine specifics have been mentioned for the new model, but the original Jonckheere was fitted with a an inline v-6 and 4-speed transmission which reached speeds over 100-mph.

The Rolls Royce Jonckheere Aerodynamic Coupe II is a great interpretation of a classic. Accents like LED running lights give it modern flair without too far a departure from the original.

The front grill is powerful as with all Rolls Royce’s, and the round doors stay true to form. I think it’s one of the best takes on an original remake.

Ugur Sahin Design is waiting for potential investors or someone to have it built as a “one-off”.
