5 Blizzard cinematic trailers better than Frozen
October 22, 2014Let’s be honest here: Blizzard is the company that makes THE best cinematic promos/cut-scenes/trailers, period. In spite of that and the anticipation of the new World of Warcraft movie, prepare to be blown away by these cinematic experiences that put a dunce cap over Frozen’s excuse of a cartoon:
5. World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria
At a certain point, I stopped caring about the game this trailer tried to promote, and instead planned on how many times will I re-watch the awesome Kung-Fu moves made by a giant Panda fighting an Orc and a Pirate.
4. World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor
The latest expansion from Blizzard… ah, but who cares. Yet another gorgeous looking (their best animation up to date) cinematic experience shows an alternate timeline (multiverse!) in which the warrior Gromash refuses to subdue his will to a poisonous vial offered by a Warlock named Gul’dan to him. Just hearing those names reminds me of something bloody, mystical, yet interesting enough to watch.
3. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls
And while closely resembling an incarnation of Peter Jackson’s adaptation of Tolkien’s Witch King of Angmar, the main antagonist in the short/cinematic shows more character in 3 minutes than Elsa of Arendelle in an hour and a plus! For those intrigued enough, there’s also a backstory of how everything came to be (not me).
2. Heroes of the Storm
It’s like the ultimate Blizzard good VS evil battle-royale event, full with awesome confrontations of epic proportions. And you thought reading the Iliad was interesting?
1. StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm
I would really, really like to see this developed into a feature movie.
Actually, I would like all of these to be developed into a feature movie! You hear me Blizzard?
