I’ll Take Two, Please.
October 17, 2011 The only thing wrong with this car…I’ve yet to inhabit it for an extended period of time. The 2011 Maserati Gran Turismo is a journey into form and function that not only defines the company’s heritage, but also transforms a car more on the luxury sport side of things into a fully-fledged ass-kicking machine.
A 4.7 Litre V-8 pushing around 650 hp rockets the MGT into a sub 4.0 60 mph time, clocking in at 3.9 seconds. Novitec, a tuning company that specializes in performance machines for the manufacturer created the car with the enthusiast in mind.
Not only is the MGT supercharged, it also comes with larger injectors and intake manifold, as well as upgraded fuel mapping. Something that’s critical to the overall performance of the supercar.
And while the car is a headturner, it only comes in a six-speed auto, which for me is a little lame. Well, alot lame in fact. I don’t understand why you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars creating a car that can be driven by either an advanced level racer, or the same person that drives a Buick Regal. Nevertheless, the MGT performance is paramount. Looks wise, it’s nothing I haven’t seen before. It has shades of the 550 Maranello…Something that Ferrari came up with, well over a decade ago.
