Ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to announce that the long anticipated USB 3.0 is readying to hit the global marketplace sometimes in the near future (yes, as a knowledgeable journalists, we don’t know the exact date).
However, the news are here and what’s most important, the new USB standard will nullify the time needed in order for one to properly plug the thing into its compatible port, thus saving precious microseconds in the ‘complicated’ process of doing so.
The Universal Serial Bus’s new feature will demand to be inserted one particular way only, meaning that an upside-down wrong inserting position would immediately ‘reject’ the effort until the exact side enters into the outlet.
On a side note, the new standard will also enhance its predecessors’ (the 2.0 and 1.0 respectively) speed and compatibility, making it that more desirable for the masses.
Brad Saunders, the chairman of USB 3.0 Promoter Group, in a press conference on Tuesday stated that the interest for this Type-C connector spanned across and over the intended industry, hence the mobile, automotive and IoT industries all wanted the new USB 3.0 standard to be adopted as quickly as possible.
The USB 3.0 is similar to the micro 2.0 Type-B connectors standard; its port size is 8.4 by 2.6 mm (remember – one side only) and will be compatible at 10 Gbps, all while supporting USB power delivery up to 100W.
Finally, the USB plugging inconvenience will be remembered in history as one of the least important things humans don’t have to worry anymore.
