Hannah Davis

Hannah Davis is a relative newcomer to the modeling industry, but she’s already graced the pages of Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated. Davis has been modeling since she was 14, and has made quite the name for herself over the past 10 years, modeling for Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, American Eagle, and Levis.

Born in the Virgin Islands, Davis is actually an accomplished tennis player. She was a champion on the Caribbean National Tennis Team, and played the local circuit.  Being 5’10, Davis figured volleyball would be a great idea, and so she added that to the athletic roster, joining the Virgin Islands National Volleyball Team.

Davis has a keen interest in clothing and jewelry design. Her hopes are to launch into fashion from the production side. Davis’s sister, Rachele, is a special education teacher back on the islands, and just finished her first children’s book, “Hammer The Hyperactive Hound”.

Davis is an expert at keeping it island. She doesn’t take herself super serious, and this whole modeling thing just kind of fell in her lap. She’d be the first to admit that she didn’t always have it together.

I didn’t know how to walk on a runway; I didn’t know how to do that runway walk. I just went out there and I walked naturally—how you would on the street—and turned around and came back. And I remember my agent saying, “Everyone’s obsessed with your walk! It’s so natural and effortless.” And I’m like, “That’s because I don’t know what I’m doing! Because I’m just walking!”

Davis also said that she had an interesting reaction when she told her agent that she wanted to be in Sports Illustrated one day. Davis said,

‘Sports Illustrated’ was the ultimate for me because it’s a sports magazine. I grew up as an athlete, [so] it’s the coolest thing ever, the best of both worlds. It’s been a dream of mine since I was 14. I remember telling my agent [at the time] that I wanted to be in ‘Sports Illustrated’. He was kind of giggling because I had no boobs—I looked like a little boy, really.

Well, thankfully for the rest of mankind, we’re not confusing her for a little boy anymore.
