The Monster Energy AMA Supercross FIM World Championships Round 7 was held over the weekend in Cowboys Stadium.

With a little over 54,000 screaming Supercross fans in attendance for Round 7, the #1 Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto was once again able to dominate the 450SX class main event.

Despite being sick and not able to ride the week or so before Round 7 at Cowboys Stadium, Villopoto the Washington native was able to lead all 20 laps to chalk up a 27th career win.

As Villopoto stated, “I’m just trying to have fun with riding again. If we get third, it’s on the podium, and if it’s second, that’s good too.”

#18 Davi Millsaps on the Rockstar Energy Suzuki just couldn’t seem to get past the #1 Villopoto during those 20 laps. However, he was just 3 seconds behind Villopoto and the 1st place win.

#5 Ryan Dungey on the Red Bull KTM battled back and forth with #22 Honda rider Chad Reed for the 3rd place win. It wasn’t until Lap 14 when they made contact and Dungey was able to knock Reed into 4th. Dungey was able to hold Reed off the next 6 laps to take the 3rd place on the podium.

You know, that checkout line where you wonder if the cashier has actually died because no one had moved in a solid twenty minutes. While impatiently waiting, like many shoppers, I found myself reading the covers of magazines on display. […]
