Olivia Wilde: Actress, Activist

Olivia Wilde Actress and Model Knuckle Dragger Magazine (15)Olivia Wilde is an actress and model that you may recognize from movies like “The Words”, where she plays an author’s groupie played by Dennis Quaid?

She really caught the losing end of that contract negotiation. She also played Justin Timberlake’s super hot mom in the sci-fi thriller,”In Time”. One of her breakout roles was on the hit TV show “House” where she played bi-sexual intern, Dr. Remy Hadley. She was on the show for 5 years, recently filming her last episodes in May 2012. Other movies include “Deadfall“, “Tron”, “Cowboys & Aliens” and “The Next Three Days”.

Wilde comes from a long line of literary heavyweights. Her mother,(Leslie Cockburn) was a journalist and producer for 60 minutes and her father (Andrew Cockburn) is a journalist and author.

Wilde derived her stage name from Irish author Oscar Wilde, and started using her stage name  in high school. Can you blame her? Cockburn is not the most teenage-friendly calling card. Anything with cock is social suicide.

Wilde has dual citizenship with the US and Ireland and she’s a Vegetarian. Wilde practiced being a Vegan for two years, until she got divorced and “Needed cheese”, as she stated in an interview. For all of the guys fawning for her affection, you’ve got a lot of work to do.

Her former husband was an Italian Prince and she’s currently dating the “Hall Pass” actor and comedian Jason Sudeikis. For all of you that saw the movie, I’m sure he’s not fake chowing her at any point and time.

don’t let the pretty face, fame and fortune fool you, Olivia Wilde’s motivation doesn’t lie in movie premiers, her political and social activism dominates her purpose.

Wilde is a board member of Artists for Peace and Justice, she campaigned for Barack Obama and participates in several other charities and activism film projects. Wilde stars in the independent film “Butter”, a movie that highlights an international butter sculpting contest that parallels political ideals.

She also recently filmed a documentary, “Half The Sky”, where she travels to Kenya and highlights poverty and other human interest stories.
