The Duquesne incline is a staple in Pittsburgh culture. It was built in 1877 and has been running people up and down that hill ever since then. Great views and a bit of history to boot.
You can impress or potentially uncover your inner nerd to your date when you tell them that the incline was shot in the film The Next Three Days and also made a cameo appearance in Flashdance.
It’s a damn shame when a hillside cart has been in more movies than me. And yet here I am writing about it. I need a cookie, and a hug.
The incline is located at 1197 West Carson St., runs 365 days a year from early in in the morning until about 1am, and will set you back 2.50 a ride. We were contemplating posting a video, but what kinda guy watches a video of a train cart going up and down a track?
